It might not be the first thing you imagine when thinking about August, but the ice pad has made a return inside Renfrew’s Ma-te-Way Activity Centre.
Renfrew’s Parks and Recreation Director, Jordan Wall, says that free public skating will break in the fresh ice surface at the arena starting this long weekend.
Having those hockey camps and ice rentals kick off in the dead of summer is a perfect opportunity for residents to enjoy some time themselves.
Noon at the rink over the next three Tuesdays will be open for everyone, starting August 8th. Meanwhile, Fridays at noon starting August 11th will be dedicated for moms and tots, as well as seniors.
Wall adds that you won’t have to look too hard for new public skating dates as they get confirmed.
Whichever free skate you show up for, Wall reminds you to always wear your helmet while having fun on the arena’s ice.
