The Renfrew detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision at a Greater Madawaska racetrack.
Police were called out to the track just past 4PM Sunday afternoon, following a report that a motorcyclist had been involved in a single vehicle collision.
The individual, who was seriously hurt, was transported by Renfrew County paramedics to hospital and subsequently succumbed to their injuries.
The 70 year old operator of the motorcycle was a resident of Ottawa.
Officers from the Renfrew detachment were assisted by a Traffic Collision Investigation (TCI) officer and a Reconstructionist.
The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario will be conducting a postmortem examination and the investigation continues.
