The tornado warning declared by Environment Canada for portions of the listening area has been downgraded.
Environment Canada meteorologists were tracking a severe thunderstorm that is possibly producing a tornado. Damaging winds, large hail and locally intense rainfall are also possible.
The audio alerts first detected the disturbance over Rankin, and indicated the cell was moving southeast at 40 km/h
Meteorologists have downgraded it, but the severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect as at 644PM
