For its first run, the Renfrew Roots Music Festival has left its organizers happy.
Jenna McEwan, the Events Coordinator with the Town of Renfrew, is impressed with the reception they received during the two-day festival that took over Ma-te-Way Park earlier this month.
McEwan credits a great crowd and their many volunteers for taking part and even braving some wet weather near the end as Renfrew Roots took its first steps.
It’s left the town excited to see where it will go in the years to come, as they look to make some minor tweaks, like toying with the schedule to avoid Bluesfest, in order to perfect the experience next time around.
If anything changes with the Renfrew Roots Festival going forward, McEwan says that it won’t be the focus on showcasing local acts.
McEwan says that festival goers also had positive feedback for the talent that dominated the stages as well as the use of the event space and the vendors on site.
Ultimately, she accepts that it will likely take a few years to get its feet under it, but adds that support from the community has so far been incredible.
