The Town of Renfrew’s Official Plan is up for review, and you could help shape the vision for growth in town from the ground up—literally.
The Official Plan governs everything from land use and development, to roads, housing, and infrastructure, and even natural heritage features and hazards.
If you want to have your say on how Renfrew grows, Town Staff will be setting up public forums to chime in, including a special public meeting for Council coming up on Tuesday, August 29th. More are expected to be announced in the near future.
Renfrew’s Director of Development and Environment, Eric Withers, says the Official Plan affects everyone in town, and your input is important for a truly effective review.
As per the Planning Act, every municipality in Ontario is required to do a review of their Official Plan 10 years after adopting one, and every five years after that. Renfrew’s Official Plan was last amended in 2018, meaning the Town has until the end of the year to complete their latest probe into the document.
You can get yourself up to speed with everything the Official Plan covers and see supporting documents on a page provided by the County of Renfrew.
