Both Tim Hortons locations in Renfrew are expecting to be busy all Wednesday.
July 19th is Camp Day, and local franchise owner Richard Dean is excited to welcome everyone in as they help send local underserved kids to summer camp with every hot or iced coffee purchased.
Dean says that it’s an amazing feeling to welcome in community figures like Mayor Tom Sidney, local fire and police services, Hospice Renfrew, and more to help raise money all day behind the counter and at the drive-thru.
He adds that his own team has been on top of the event in the lead-up to Wednesday, as efforts to raise money actually got started near the start of the month.
Camp Day bracelets are on sale right now for $3 each at both locations, while supplies last. You can also show your support by purchasing a window decal featuring one of the 5 C’s taught at Tims Camps: Competence, Confidence, Character, Caring, and Connection.
When it comes to his goal for Camp Day, Dean tells myFM that he does have a specific dollar figure in mind.
Dean says that since 1974, Camp Day has raised over $236 million towards providing summer camp experiences for underprivileged and low-income youth across Canada, including $12 million in 2022.
