Renfrew’s Town Hall is one step closer to welcoming in its newest tenants later this year.
Speaking at a special meeting of council on Friday, July 7th, Chief Administrative Officer Rob Tremblay gave the latest update on the renovations happening ahead of the Renfrew County and District Health Unit’s local office moving in.
Tremblay says that their September 1st arrival lines up perfectly for the town, as the former tenant of the old OPP Detachment and Courthouse will be giving up the currently unused space for good shortly.
He also revealed the terms of their 10-year lease with the RCDHU, which has the option for a 5-year renewal if the arrangement works out.
The Health Unit will split the former detachment with the Renfrew Business Hive, a “one-stop shop” for local entrepreneurs looking for office space, financial support, and information being run by the Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation, the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Renfrew BIA.
