The Town of Renfrew says that locals can once again enjoy an evening by the bonfire.
Renfrew’s fire ban has officially ended, just over a month after it first began.
Community members have been warned against starting open-air fires since June 2nd, as a stretch of hot, dry weather made for the ideal conditions to start forest fires.
Town staff in Renfrew tell myFM that their move to lift the fire ban comes in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources wrapping up a province-wide Restricted Fire Zone on Tuesday, July 11th.
Residents with valid recreational outdoor burn permits can enjoy an open-air fire, so long as it complies with local by-laws. You can apply for permits online.
