“That Summer Night” brings an evening twist to your Downtown Renfrew shopping experience this week.
Wanda Brydges Kennell, Executive Director for the Downtown Renfrew BIA, tells myFM that you’re invited to check out one-night-only sales, samplings, and events happening along the main street from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, July 13.
She adds that a successful return for the event in 2022 had shop owners keen to ask her when the Downtown BIA would be getting everyone together for another run.
Every business taking part has been asked to put on a special event on Thursday night, from A Sense of Country holding a campfire singalong in the alley beside their store to Ottawa Valley Coffee hosting Coffee with a Cop and everything in between.
Hungry shoppers can support the local legion as they serve up both bacon and sausage on a bun, as well as enjoy a barbeque put on by Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support.
It’s also a night to help a worthy cause, as Brydges Kennell says to bring an item or two to help out the Renfrew and District Food Bank.
That Summer Night could also be the evening where you win big thanks to the Downtown Renfrew BIA, as making a purchase of $10 or more at any participating store that night earns you a ballot that can be entered into a grand prize draw for a $500 Downtown shopping spree.
That’s not the only prize up for grabs that night, either.
Completing the evening is a stacked line-up of local musicians who will be performing at multiple locations along the main drag, including Mitch Desilets, Khloe Bertrand, Melanie Hass & Son, Kacy Blok, and students from St. Joe’s.
