Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney says Canada Day will be a celebration of what our community has to offer.
You’re invited to stop by Ma-te-Way Park, rain or shine, from 10:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, July 1st, as Sidney says he and his fellow councilmembers will be manning the free barbeque starting at 11:00am.
He also invites your family to come down and enjoy live music from local artists Aerik Watson and Neil Kennedy, a giant games area, inflatables, visits from our local fire and police services, the opportunity to check out the NHL/NHA Birthplace Museum inside the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre, and much more.
A lot of changes have happened inside both Renfrew and Town Hall over the past year, and that turnover almost meant just fireworks this year.
However, Sidney says the entire team worked hard to make sure there was plenty for everyone to enjoy this weekend.
Once the afternoon wraps up, you are welcome to return Saturday evening for the traditional Canada Day fireworks display, which will be set off at the ball diamonds within Ma-te-Way Park. The show will begin at dusk.
UPDATE: Town Staff are letting the community know that the afternoon portion of Renfrew’s Canada Day celebrations will move indoors to the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre due to a risk of thunderstorms.
