A look at the fire along Centennial Lake
The case of the Centennial Lake Fire is about to turn into a whodunnit, with Conservation Officers turning to the public for clues before the trail goes cold.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has set up a toll-free tip line as they continue to search for the individual or individuals who might be responsible for starting and abandoning the 45-hectare-wide fire on Sunday, June 4th.
Right now, they believe that suspects may have left the island where the blaze began that afternoon by using the boat launch near Wolfe Rapids Road.
The Ministry is taking this situation very seriously because the fire, which was started in a Restricted Fire Zone, forced a number of nearby homes to evacuate for most of the following week.
If you have any information about the Centennial Lake wildfire, call the MNRF TIPS line toll-free at 1-877-847-7667 or contact your local ministry office. If you would like to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
