Renfrew Victoria Hospital is continuing its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by easing up on masking mandates.
Effective immediately, masking will not be necessary in public areas inside RVH like hallways, nursing stations, outpatient waiting areas, and elevators.
However, you will still need to mask up when making a visit to an admitted patient or getting direct care and services as an outpatient.
You’ll also need to keep a mask on while stopping by the hospital’s common clinical areas and emergency department.
In a statement, RVH President and CEO Julia Boudreau notes that “our primary objective is always to keep our patients, staff, and physicians safe.”
That means that masks are still encouraged, particularly for those who are vulnerable, and will be available at all entrances and clinical areas for anyone who wants or needs one.
According to Boudreau, the spaces where the rules around masking have been loosened are “areas where the risk is extremely low at this point,” adding that they will continue to “monitor and adapt to the situation and the advice of public health.”
