McNab-Braeside Council has a plan to reimburse Township dwellers their out-of-pocket (expenses) when Arnprior starts charging Non-resident Recreation Fees next month.
A formula is being proposed to issue cheques for amounts over 25 dollars, and pay lesser receipts submitted out of petty cash.
One resident warns it could turn in to an electronic overpayment scam.
But by this point in Tuesday’s discussions at Township Council, proceedings had already reached the silly hour in a lengthy discussion over logistics and legalities.
There was unanimous agreement with the point-of-view that none of the costs of the inter-community discord on matters Recreational should be inflicted onto the backs of Township residents
But then elected representatives got caught in the thicket over questions like whether there should be reimbursement going forward if a similar program is offered by McNab-Braeside Recreation, and whether saddling the Township Rec Director with validating receipts submitted was an efficient use of staff time were just among many questions raised.
Even though much of the ground duplicated discussions at Council of April 18th and May 16th, the codification of it all into a document that makes sense remained an elusive process for about an hour out of the four and a half hour municipal meeting.
Deadline to qualify, January 31st, 2024.
