Father’s Day in Ontario includes a Free Fishing weekend, courtesy of the Ontario government.
June 17th and 18th residents will have free access to fishing, province wide.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says it views fishing as a great family pastime.
You don’t have to drop a line – just enjoy being on or along lakes and rivers in the province.
You can fish without a permit both days but catch limits and catch and release rules are in effect. You should carry ID proving you’re a resident of Ontario,
This weekend, yellow perch, common carp, northern pike, lake trout and walleye are in-season.
