Non-life threatening injuries were the lucky outcome of this recent incident.
On Tuesday, May 30th, at about 6:20 p.m., Renfrew OPP received a report of a collision involving an ATV and a side-by-side on the OFSC Trail near Mast Road.
McNab-Braeside Fire Department and Renfrew County EMS were already there.
Emergency services told police that an 18-year-old male who was seated on an ATV was rear-ended by a side-by-side.
He was launched into the air and landed on gravel.
The man was taken to Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Given the high speeds and the location, police believe the injuries could have been life-threatening or perhaps fatal.
They want to remind off-road vehicle operators to use caution while driving on the trails. Be mindful of both your speed and your surroundings.
