Greater Madawaska has reported more progress in combatting the Centennial Lake Fire.
The perimetres of the blaze have reportedly been flanked, allowing for crews to concentrate on extinguishing hot spots.
A HeliCat Helicopter which can drop buckets of water at GPS locations where hot spots are found has joined the firefighting fray.
With fire crews remaining on scene, the evacuation order was extended an additional 48 hours to Friday, (June 9th), at 3PM.
It remains crucial that residents and bystanders remain clear of the scene to allow firefighters to accomplish their tasks.
