Area car washes may be busy with a sticky mix of ash and pollen coating vehicles- but more serious is the number of calls to Renfrew County Paramedics from those suffering with breathing difficulties.
EMS Chief Mike Nolan says there’s been a marked increase in calls to local paramedics.
Nolan says the smoky mix is a blend of fire residue and pollen.
The EMS Chief says if you still have COVID masks in your wardrobe, don’t hesitate.
He says wearing that familiar mask can be a benefit.
The EMS Chief says some tell-tale signs are more rapid breathing, or taking longer to do simple tasks.
