A scary situation in Greater Madawaska this past weekend has thankfully resulted in nobody hurt.
At around 12:30pm this past Sunday, May 28th, Renfrew OPP were called to a collision on Matawachan Road where a car drove off the road and submerged in a near-by lake.
Both police and emergency services arrived to find the male driver and his dog had escaped the car and were on land.
They were both unharmed, but the resulting investigation would lead the 31-year-old driver from Griffith to be arrested on two charges:
- Operation while impaired- alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired- blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
He has since been released and will appear in Pembroke for a court date later in June.
