Competitors at the 25th annual RVH Golf Classic will be teeing off against the best Town Hall has to offer.
The Town of Renfrew is joining on as a Partner Sponsor Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation for this year’s run of the popular fundraiser, adding a $10,000 contribution towards equipping the hospital’s medical team with the tools they need so they can provide an excellent level of care close to home.
They’ll also be sending a team of four to the Renfrew Golf Club to take part on Friday, June 9th, which will feature a pair of council members in Andrew Dick and Kyle Cybulski.
Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney says that “the hospital is vital to our community, and the Foundation does phenomenal work,” adding that “it was fitting for the town to be a partner and express our appreciation.”
Meanwhile, RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough says they’re excited to have the town on board because they are “planning some new and innovative activities to mark this momentous 25th anniversary.”
A day of golf will be followed by a celebratory cocktail reception that evening featuring live music by Mitch Desilets. There will also be a raffle draw for a 10′ by 12′ screened gazebo provided by Ken Dillabough and Stephanie English of Protyre, with limited tickets still available through the RVH Foundation as well as Protyre, Gourley’s Outdoors, and Renfrew Printing.
Also on the schedule is a golf ball drop starting at 5:30pm. Numbered balls will plummet from 55 feet over the 18th green, with the closest to the pin winning $5,000 provided by Chad Murray from Canadian Tire. Tickets can be purchased online or at the RVH Foundation office.
Dillabough notes that the event sold-out of spaces for golfers back in mid-April and that the foundation is “so appreciative of the Town of Renfrew for its sponsorship and to all of our sponsors at each level, as well as the donors and golfers.”
According to her, the one thing that has never wavered in the 25 years of the RVH Golf Classic has been the support from the community.
