Officers described the scene as “tragic yet heartwarming” as people came together to help after a fire in Arnprior.
Renfrew OPP tells myFM that they, along with the Arnprior Fire Department and Renfrew County Paramedics, were sent to a residence on Russell Street North at around noon on Thursday, April 27th, and worked quickly to evacuate people and animals inside.
Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia says that his crew was able to contain the fire in the room it started in and that nobody was injured during the incident.
Many neighbours worked together to lend each other a helping hand in the aftermath, as police say the Canadian Red Cross and Renfrew County Housing Corporation provided assistance alongside first responders for people who were displaced by the blaze.
