The Renfrew Wolves have found their way back into the fight.
After a pair of losses to start their second round Bogart Cup Playoff series against the Smiths Falls Bears, the Wolves would control the action at the Smiths Falls Memorial Centre throughout the night on Tuesday, April 11th to win 4-0.
Tyson Tomasini would lead the way with a pair of short handed goals to start and finish the night, with Trent Scullion and Jace Letourneau adding power play tallies in between.
It was a notably rough and tumble night at the office, as the two sides would combine for 78 penalty minutes over 23 infractions. That includes a pair of 10 minute misconducts for Smiths Falls forward Finnegan Kilmurray for a check to the head in the second period and a game misconduct attached to a roughing penalty in the third.
Renfrew goaltender Sebastian Resar picked up first star honours for his 44-save shutout performance, with Tomasini’s two goal effort good enough for second star. Smiths Falls defenseman Jack Paquette would be named third star.
Smiths Falls now leads the series 2-1 as the two sides head back to the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre for Game 4 on Thursday, April 13th at 7:00pm.
