The Kitchissippi-Ottawa Valley Chapter of the Council of Canadians isn’t letting its foot off the gas (figuratively) this month.
Spokesperson Ann Pohl says an online workshop on Thursday April 13th is preparatory to the Chapter’s Celebrate Earth Day Parade later in the month.
This ALL-AGES community arts evening of making Earth Day posters will be facilitated by a special guest artist and activist from our Council of Canadians’ national staff, Eagleclaw Thom.
The Nishnabai artist will guide and support all participants to create images that both honour the Earth’s life forces and communicate the urgency of Climate Action now!
Pohl tells us this is the second year that the Kitchissippi-Ottawa Valley Chapter of the COC has facilitated the actions of its working group- with a few refinements to the process.
Last year there were 110 posters submitted and an exhibition of the artwork was featured in various Valley locations.
This year the focus will be on the Celebrate Earth Day Parade in Pembroke on April 22nd.
