The new Business Hive in downtown Renfrew is set to be a “one-stop shop” for local entrepreneurs.
The Renfrew County Community Futures Development Corporation will be one of three anchors setting up shop later this year, and their Executive Director Cyndy Phillips says the move fits in with their goal to be at the heart of the community.
The Business Hive set to take up part of the old OPP detachment in Town Hall, and is a perfect fit for the new hybrid business model Community Futures has been seeking according to Phillips.
Philips adds that the convenience of having multiple important business resources in a single space is an asset that takes a lot of pressure off of local entrepreneurs.
Work to renovate the vacant Town Hall space into the Business Hive is expected to be completed later this year, but Phillips notes that Community Futures will be getting a head start as part of their plans to be more centrally located in both Renfrew and Pembroke.
Community Futures can be found inside Renfrew’s Town Hall Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm starting Monday, April 3rd before being joined by the Renfrew and Area Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Renfrew BIA when the Business Hive is complete.
