Consider the delicious chili being served at the Haley United Church this Saturday as a reward for remembering to turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed that evening.
Garry Juby, a member of the church’s Board of Stewards says they’re going to try something different this year with their Spring Ahead Chili Fest.
Helen Deslaurier, who is part of the Food Committee, tells myFM that you’ll have your choice of meat or vegetarian chili, as well as soup, hot dogs, pie and more this Saturday, March 11th from 11:00am to 3:00pm.
She adds that snowmobilers traveling along the nearby OSFC ‘A’ Trial are welcome to stop by as well.
Both Helen and Garry note that the trail sees a lot of traffic pass by the church in Haley Station year-round, and they’re hoping posters going up along the trail will direct hungry snowmobilers in for a warm meal and a rest.
Helen adds that proceeds from the day will go towards keeping the church alive and active as a community hub for Haley Station and the surrounding area.
The Spring Forward Chili Fest is set for Saturday, March 11th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Haley United Church located at 760 Calvin Road in Haley Station.
