Pancakes have fueled an upcoming class trip for students in Douglas.
Bronwynn Dick and her classmates at St. Michael’s Catholic School began advertising their Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner on myFM and social media back in early February as part of their media studies course.
She says the tactic worked and they were busy the whole evening of February 21st with dine-in and take out orders. By the end of the night, they had raised over $2,200 to cover transportation for their Grade 7 and 8 end-of-year trip.
Bronwynn adds the community can expect thank you notes to be sent out sometime ahead of March Break.
Meanwhile, St. Michael’s Principal Pamela Dickerson says with the wheels for the trip secured they just need to hammer out the destination.
Speaking with myFM last month, Bronwynn had mentioned the Calypso Waterpark outside of Ottawa as a potential landing spot for the Grade 7 and 8 trip. However, the details are still being worked out.
