The Ottawa Valley’s Single A Junior Boys Basketball Championships will run through Renfrew this Thursday, March 2nd.
The Eastern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s tournament will play at St. Joseph’s High School in Renfrew, as EOSSAA Coordinator Mike McMahon tells myFM the Jaguars will host a number of the region’s best.
Gerry Benoit, the head coach for the St. Joseph’s Jaguars, says his team bid to host the tournament last year, but also earned their way to the dance with a 7-2 regular season.
He tells us that the team’s in good spirits heading into Thursday, and he hopes that the experience of playing at this level in front of friends and family is something they keep with them for years to come.
Benoit says home games inside the St. Joe’s gymnasium are a unique experience.
McMahon adds the Jaguars are looking for your support throughout the day, and it’s as simple as signing in at the front office.
The Jaguars will welcome teams from North Dundas, Kemptville, Brockville, Russell, and Almonte when they begin their chase for the Championship at 9:00am on Thursday, March 2nd.
