Golf season is still a ways away, but there’s still plenty happening at the Renfrew Golf Club.
General Manger Greig Burnie tells myFM that they’re putting their snowy hills to use.
The cross country trail starts behind the golf shop towards the 16th hole before splitting off either down the 16th to the 12th and 18th holes or to the 7th and 8th holes before heading back towards the clubhouse.
Skiers are asked to stay on the groomed trails to keep the golf course damage free for when they reopen, while those with snowshoes can wander the property as they please except for on the putting greens.
It’s part of what Burnie is calling a return to a 12-month operation cycle at the Renfrew Golf Club, as golfers itching to enjoy a round without the hassle of searching for the tee box under the snow can now do so thanks to a pair of simulators in their clubhouse lounge.
Burnie tells myFM regular play on the simulators will continue through to the end of April, and it might not be too long before you’re able to play their course from the comfort of the clubhouse.
He adds that their weekend Junior program for golfers age 5 to 15 is running through the end of March. Also, coming up on March 4th is a club fitting with Taylormade.
For tee times on the simulator, an appointment for a fitting, or to book an event at the Renfrew Golf Club, get in touch with Greig Burnie at greig@renfrewgolf.com, or 613-432-2485 ext. 224.
