The Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) is working to set up five cell towers in Whitewater Region.
Neil Nicholson, the Mayor of Whitewater Region, says council has already approved the locations and all five towers should be installed by 2025.
With the five additional cell towers, Nicholson says it will take cell reception in Whitewater Region up to 99 percent.
EORN is spearheading a $300-million public-private partnership to improve cell service across the region. Rogers Communications has been selected through a competitive bidding process to improve the coverage and capacity of cell networks.
Ivan Burton, the Chief Administrative Officer for the Township, says Whitewater Internet is also in the process of installing a number of towers including one in Westmeath.
