Joey Kennelly had a night to remember on Thursday, February 9th, scoring a hat-trick as his Renfrew Wolves picked up a much needed road win by blanking the Cornwall Colts 3-0.
The Wolves came into the Ed Lumley Arena looking to bounce back from a pair of overtime losses in Brockville and Ottawa last week, and in need of points to keep pace in the standings with the rest of the CCHL’s Robinson Division.
Kennelly picked up first star honours for his efforts, with teammate Sebastian Resar earning second star of the game by turning away 45 shots on goal for the shutout win. Fernand-Olivier Perron of Cornwall was declared third star of the game.
The win allows Renfrew to stay one point behind Carleton Place in the Robinson Division standings and two points back of the division leading Smiths Falls Bears going into this weekend, where the Wolves will welcome Cornwall to the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre for the second half of their home-and-home series.
Game time on Saturday, February 11th is 7:30pm.
