Pancakes are on the menu for the eve of Ash Wednesday.
St. Michael’s Catholic School in Douglas will be serving fresh flapjacks from 4:30 to 6:30 on Shrove Tuesday, February 21st according to one of their students, Bronwynn Dick.
Bronwynn tells myFM that the dinner gives people observing Ash Wednesday an easy option for dinner ahead of fasting for Lent.
She adds that students at St. Michaels have been getting the word out for the event as part of their media unit classes.
Adults eat for $10, children 5 and up eat for $6, and kids under 5 eat for free. On top of pancakes and fresh maple syrup, sausages and dessert is also on the menu.
Take out and gluten free options will be available, and proceeds will go to funding an end-of-year trip to the Calypso Waterpark for the Grade 7 and 8 classes.
