Good News out of the Nick Smith Centre came late Tuesday afternoon.
Arnprior Recreation Director Graeme Ivory advised myFM that the brine leak discovered Sunday over the Noon Hour was confined to the ice making plant itself, and did not extend to the header trench- which would have required a several-day shutdown, and the loss of ice to Rinks A and B.
Ivory says the initial estimate of several days downtime was averted.
The Arnprior Rec Director thanks our neighbors in Mississippi Mills who were able to accommodate Arnprior user groups with ice time.
He says some things that had tentatively been postponed or cancelled are now once again good to go- including the Packers hosting Smiths Falls Friday.
There’s been no estimate on the cost of the repair as yet.
