From formulaic billings that if eliminated would cramp a physician’s revenue stream, to jurisdictional spats between competing levels of government, our medical system has woes that won’t be solved by reverting to a private health care delivery model in Canada.
That’s the recently-retired Dr. Robert Cushman, former Acting Medical Officer of Health with the RCDHU.
To get a fuller understanding of the perceived Health Care crisis in Canada, the Doctor says we have to look at both sides of the balance sheet.
But do we get good value for our health care dollars?
Cushman says reconciliation is a financial process whose enemies are inertia and vested interests.
He says the public temptation to leave matters to the experts can no longer cut it.
Baby steps and band aid solutions have had their day.
