Building a successful Junior Hockey team is tough, and the coach of the Renfrew Wolves says it’s matter of building a good team culture.
Ryan Leonard says his Wolves are in good shape as they head towards the January 10th trade deadline, and he’s focused on bringing some more consistency to the team’s offense.
Leonard says the Wolves offensive lines have done well this year, despite losing an important piece in Jamie Hylands back in October. However, adding an extra shooter to their third line will give him more options to work with going into the second half of the season.
On that note, Coach Leonard says The Renfrew Wolves have a resolution going into the New Year: secure the win against bottom ranking teams.
While they’ve fared well against the best in local Junior A Hockey, he notes giving up points in winnable games could set them up for a repeat of last season’s finish at the hands of the league leading Ottawa Jr. Senators.
The Renfrew Wolves are back in action on Friday, January 6th when they travel to Smiths Falls for a game with the Bears.
