As the nights get more festive, count on local police to be watching our roads.
Renfrew OPP made a pair of drunk driving arrests back on Saturday, December 10th.
First, at 1:30am, officers caught up to a driver going too fast on Eighth Street and would eventually arrest the 24-year-old from Greater Madawaska on three charges:
- Impaired driving
- Driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg
- Drive motor vehicle- perform stunt and/or excessive speed
Just three hours later, at around 4:30am, Renfrew police would pull over another car after getting reports of a different drunk driver.
The 31-year-old from Renfrew was also arrested and charged with the following:
- Impaired driving,
- Driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg
Both drivers will be back in Renfrew for court appearances on January 18th.
Police across the Ottawa Valley have been participating in Holiday RIDE campaigns, and drivers can expect to see police conducting more frequent RIDE stops checking for impaired drivers through to January 2nd.
