A climb in rank is set to cause a change of command at Garrison Petawawa.
Outgoing Commander, Brigadier General John Vass was recently promoted to a new rank and new role after a visit from Lieutenant-General Jocelyn Paul, Commander of the Canadian Army.
Brigadier-General Vass was joined by his wife, as well as Commanding Officers from across the formation as he accepted the new rank on Friday, December 9th.
The promotion comes with a change of office for the former Colonel, as Vass will be taking a senior position with the Canadian Joint Operations Command in Ottawa.
He’s expected to stay with Garrison Petawawa into January, before formally handing command of the 4th Canadian Division Support Group to the incoming Colonel Jason Guiney.
