The Ottawa Valley’s first blast of winter has shut down school bus transportation today.
Due to the road conditions this morning, school buses have been canceled for all English and French, Public and Catholic Schools today. However, the schools are still open for in-person learning.
Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory and a winter weather travel advisory. In the meantime, Ottawa Valley OPP is sharing some safe winter driving tips:
- Stay alert, slow down and stay in control.
- If visibility is reduced when driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
- Give yourself extra time to get where you need to go and make sure you clean all snow and frost off your vehicle before getting on the roads.
The snowfall is expected to continue into Saturday morning before tapering off into a chance of flurries.
