Let’s call it “Take Two” for Renfrew’s Santa Claus Parade.
Town Communications Coordinator Jenna McEwan says, after high winds grounded the festivities over the weekend, almost all the floats have confirmed that they’ll be back in line this Saturday, December 10th, starting at 5:00pm.
Fingers are crossed that the weather stays calm for this attempt, as McEwan tells myFM that they might have to get creative if it gets postponed for a second straight week.
She calls the effort and support that’s been put into this Santa Claus Parade, which is going mobile after a couple years featuring stationary floats during the COVID-19 pandemic, special to see.
Festivities start this Saturday, December 10th at 2:00pm with the Grinch’s Playground activity space for kids set up in Low Square.
The parade will begin properly at 5:00pm, starting from St. Joseph’s High School and making it’s way downtown along Raglan Street before wrapping up at the corner of Munroe Avenue.
Once the parade finishes, you’re invited back to the Renfrew Public Library for hot chocolate and to meet up with Santa.
Finally, at 6:30pm, Town Staff will award the first ever winner of the Holiday Window Display Award, as McEwan notes touring downtown at the moment is magical with all the stores lit up in time for the season.
