The Renfrew Wolves picked up another big win ahead of the holidays, as they kicked off a four game homestead with a 3-2 win over Cornwall on Saturday night.
It was the second game in as many days for the Wolves, as they just returned from a 6-3 win in Hawkesbury the night prior. The trip back was made slightly longer thanks to a stop at the Ottawa airport to pick up new signing Mighton Johnson, who had just flown in from Saskatchewan.
The Colts open the scoring on the man advantage near the end of the first period thanks to Tristan Miron. Zach Choueiri would quickly respond with is first goal of the year to keep things level heading into the second, where Elvis Slack and Noah Vom Scheidt would give Renfrew the lead heading into the third.
Conrwall would get one back as Bradley Fraser, again on the powerplay, brought the game to within a single goal. However, that’s as close as the Wolves would allow them before time ran out.
Wolves goaltender Sebastian Resar was unfazed by the back-to-back assignment in net, stopping 23 of 25 attempts in the win. Dax Easter made 30 saves on 33 attempts for Cornwall.
The Renfrew Wolves have five days off ahead of their next game at the Ma-te-Way Centre on Saturday, December 10th. They host the Rockland Nationals, starting at 7:30pm.
