Staff at the Bank of Montreal in Renfrew as their Food Drive Challenge got underway in Late November
Staff at one of Renfrew’s banks are hoping to start a yearly tradition for a good cause and have sent out a challenge to ensure their giving makes an impact.
Customer Service Representative Chantel Coules tells myFM that they’re taking donations to fill up the Renfrew Food Bank ahead of the holiday rush.
Personal Banker Kelly Ferguson says their team has set up a friendly competition for the other banks along the downtown core to help support the community during a time where inflation has put the crunch on many families’ budgets.
Ferguson adds that the idea to take donations for the Renfrew Food Bank came after the team brainstormed ways to give back to the community.
You can find a bin near the front counters at the Bank of Montreal on Raglan Street for non-perishable food items and other necessities up until the afternoon of Friday, December 9th. They’ve also invited other banks along Renfrew’s downtown core to do the same.
Ferguson says they chose the afternoon of December 9th as the deadline so that everything can be sent to the food bank in time to be handed out to families in need during the holidays.
