Renfrew County has opened nominations for the annual Warden’s Community Service Awards to recognize individuals, organizations, and businesses for their community involvement and commitment.
Individuals can be nominated for their participation in community events, their devotion to local politics, their support of local organizations, and their celebration of the area’s culture and heritage.
For-profit businesses can be nominated for their contributions to the arts and culture, their good deeds, and their support of local charity events.
Not-for-profit business organizations can be nominated for their assistance given to community members who may be facing challenges and their overall community support for those in need.
Renfrew County Warden, Peter Emon is encouraging citizens to nominate individuals and organizations who they feel make a difference in improving the lives of others in the County of Renfrew. Emon says this is an important way to celebrate those who continue to make such selfless contributions.
Once nominations are received, they will be reviewed by a committee made up of Warden Emon, Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk Craig Kelley and one member of County Council. All nominees are considered based on the criteria as to how they contribute to the County of Renfrew’s quality of life.
For more information, go to the County of Renfrew website here or call 613-735-7288.
The nomination deadline is December 30 and the awards will be presented during the January 25, 2023 County Council meeting.
