Who doesn’t love a little hockey rivalry between neighbours?
Renfrew Mayor Tom Sidney and Pembroke Mayor Ron Gervais have shaken hands on a friendly wager they’re calling the “Battle of the Valley”: a best of five series using the remaining games between the Renfrew Wolves and Pembroke Lumber Kings.
Whichever team prevails will see the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Reeve from the losing side wear their opponent’s jersey to the next possible Council meeting.
That first game is tonight (Friday November 25th) at the Ma-te-Way Activity Centre in Renfrew. The puck drops at 7:30.
