Warden Peter Emon wants to see additional work completed on Highway 17 in Renfrew County. Emon says the highway needs to be replaced to meet the demand of many sectors of the economy.
The Warden for Renfrew County says they will continue to monitor the progress of the extension of the the 417 from McNab/Braeside to Renfrew.
Emon says the County will offer suggestions on timelines, highway design models and provide information on the remainder of Highway 17 in the community.
Emon says this highway remains a critical piece of Canada’s transportation infrastructure.
Currently the province has committed to creating four lanes of traffic between Renfrew and Arnprior and the $25-million Calabogie Road interchange is expected to be complete sometime in 2023. New interchanges will also be built at Gillan Road, O’Brien Road and Bruce Street.
