Seniors support programs in Renfrew and Arnprior are reaching out for help getting their clients on the road for important medical appointments.
Nikki Rumbelow, the volunteer coordinator for Renfrew and Area Seniors Home Support and Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program, says while they try to say yes to as many requests as they can, they haven’t been able to make every call lately because of the lack of volunteers on call.
They’re also reaching out for people to help around the home with things like small home repairs or shoveling snow. Rumbelow says you’ll be matched up to one of their clients once you go through the vetting process.
According to Rumbelow, helping our local seniors is a reward in itself for the people who sign on to help even before they get paid.
Either way you want to help out, you’ll be compensated; drivers will get money for gas and wear to their cars while workers helping around their clients’ homes will be paid by the client themselves.
She also notes that both programs are flexible to fit your schedule.
