The Horton Community Centre was the setting for the next chapter in Township history on Tuesday.
It was there where Township’s council for the next four years was sworn into office.
Mayor David Bennett will hold on to the chain of office after being acclaimed in the fall election. He was joined on the evening by returning councilors Glen Campbell, Doug Humphries, and Tom Webster, as well as newcomer Daina Proctor.
They also appointed Webster as Deputy Mayor at the meeting, according to the Township’s Executive Assistant, Nikky Dubeau.
Lastly, they capped the evening by setting up a number of standing and community committees, including for Renfrew and Area Home Support and the Chamber of Commerce.
Dubeau adds that everyone at Town Hall looks forward to working together with all residents of Horton when council gets started on Tuesday, November 22nd at 4:00pm.
