The Santa Claus Parade in Renfrew gets rolling once more on Saturday, December 3rd.
Town Communications Coordinator Jenna McEwan tells myFM that they and the Downtown BIA are excited to get floats moving again after the pandemic caused them to keep things stationary over the last few years.
McEwan says floats will start at St. Joesphs High School and begin heading downtown at 5:00pm on the day. They’ll head along Raglan Street and continue down the main strip before wrapping their trip up at Munroe Avenue.
That’s not all to the event, though, as she says the festivities get started earlier in the afternoon along Low Square.
After the parade is over, you’re invited to drop by the Renfrew Public Library for some hot chocolate.
You can also join on to be part of the parade. McEwan says they’ll be taking applications for floats right up until Thursday, November 24th. Pick up a registration form at the Town Hall office or on their website to get started.
As far as guidelines for the floats, McEwan says they’ll do their best to accommodate what you have in mind as long as it’s holiday appropriate.
Signing up a float is free, and McEwan notes that it’s a great chance to work with friends and family to spread some holiday cheer. Businesses and organizations are also welcomed to promote themselves as part of the parade.
