The Renfrew Wolves snapped a two-game skid with their first shutout win of the season Friday night as they played the Braves in Brockville.
It’s a welcome victory for a Wolves side that has struggled as of late, having lost five of eight games since the CCHL Showcase over the Thanksgiving weekend heading into Friday.
Aditya Mehta and Trent Scullion scored for Renfrew in the first and second periods respectively, and Tyson Thomasini would add an empty net tally late in the third as the Wolves were able to hold their hosts off the scoresheet for the full 60 minutes.
After being pulled early into the second in his previous game against Carleton Place, Wolves goaltender Sebastian Resar came back to stop all 30 attempts on net against him for his seventh win of the season. Sami Molu made 18 of 20 saves for Brockville in the loss.
Renfrew will be able to carry that feel-good win into next week, as they don’t play again until Friday, November 18th when they travel to Hawkesbury to play the Hawks. 96.1 myFM will have that game for you starting with the puck drop at 7:30pm.
