The community continues to remember Ian Scott, owner of Scotts Shoes in Renfrew, following his death on Tuesday.
Christina Ouellet, the Chair for Renfrew’s Downtown Business Improvement Area, sends her condolences to the Scott family. She adds that her group is at a loss because Scott was such a fixture within the downtown core.
Scott was a frequent sight at the Renfrew Curling Club, according to their Vice President Gertrude Bridges.
She says a common opinion among the members is that Ian is the best curler they’ve ever had, dating back to his first time representing the club provincially during his school days in 1969.
My Broadcasting Corporation owner Jon Pole says that Ian Scott was a close to a business legend as Renfrew could get.
Scott was also a strong supporter of myFM, according to Pole, who says he can’t remember a day when Scott’s Shoes wasn’t running ads with the radio station.
A visitation for Ian is set for Friday, October 21st at Zohr Family Funeral Home in Renfrew from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at the Renfrew Curling Club on Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
