As part of Small Business Week, we took a moment to relax at McPhail and Perkins Furniture.
Owner Sherry-Lynn Shalla says the downtown furniture store has been active since the 1940’s, and gives Renfrew residents quality sofas, chairs, and beds without having to leave town.
Shalla notes that McPhail and Perkins Furniture offers the Renfrew area a chance to sample their Canadian-made furniture firsthand, something you can’t do online.
She also says that keeping their customers relaxed goes beyond reclining in one of their La-Z-Boys.
Shalla says making customers comfortable as they shop is important, because word of mouth is essential to running a small business like hers especially on custom orders.
A lot of building that comfort comes from being a part of the Renfrew community. Having that closer connection with residents means they can tailor their customer service better than a big box store or online retailer.
