Renfrew’s Rotary Club is celebrating 100 years with a dinner this weekend, and tickets are almost sold out.
Rotary Director John Wilson tells myFM that they’re set a full crowd at St. Joseph’s High School in Renfrew on Saturday evening, but he’s held on to a few seats just in case.
The evening starts with cocktails at 5:30pm with the dinner course from The Babbling Gourmet set for 6:30pm. Comedian Casey Corbin and guest speaker Valerie Wafer, director of Rotary International, will be on hand as well.
Director John Wilson says it’ll also be a good chance for someone interested in joining to see how the Rotary Club makes an impact.
Ringing in a century of improving our community with projects like the recent splashpad expansion and the new playground for Central Public School, as well as the Rotary Club’s mission work overseas, is more than just a celebration for Wilson. As he tells us, it’s a family affair.
Wilson says he has just a few tickets on hand for Saturday’s dinner. Get in touch by phone at 613-433-4264, or by email at Wilsonjs1009@gmail.com.
