Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but sales are down, and prices are up in Renfrew County’s real estate market.
The latest Renfrew County Real Estate Board numbers show just 120 units were sold in September, a sharp drop of nearly 39% compared to last year and 26% under the five-year average.
There were 387 active listings for sale at the end of last month, with 199 of them being new to the market in September. That’s a vast increase over last year, but still well below the 5- and 10-year averages for the county.
That’s kept the price to buy a home high, as the average home cost $421,122 up 2.5% over September 2021.
The Real Estate Board says the year-to-date average price to live in Renfrew County also remains quite high at $470,823, an 18% increase compared the first nine months of last year.
